Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Treatment Team Leader, the incumbent will be responsible for:
o As a Recreation Therapist, you would design, develop, implement, and deliver recreational therapy services to affect the physical, mental, and/or social well-being of individuals residing in State operated programs residential programs. o Incumbents are responsible for the organization and direction of one or more therapeutic recreation programs including, but not limited to, sports, dance, drama, music, art, and social activities. o Incumbents may also supervise lower level Recreation Therapists as well as other recreation program staff in the design, development, and/or delivery of recreation therapy services. o In accordance with residential habilitation plans and residents' interests and needs, the incumbent will conduct activities, reviews and evaluates program effectiveness for the residents served and recommends changes or specialized activities as required. Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:
From $49202 to $62806 Annually

Qualifications:
Any permanent Recreation Therapist. OR Any person eligible for appointment or transfer to Recreation Therapist. Promotional Opportunities:

In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the qualifications below may be qualified for a provisional appointment. Minimum
Qualifications:
Either 1. a bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation; Or 2. a bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education or Adaptive Physical Education AND one year of experience in planning and administering a therapeutic recreation program which involved developing and coordinating therapeutic recreational activities for geriatric patients/residents, individuals with developmental disabilities, individuals with psychiatric disabilities, individuals that are physically challenged, or individuals in treatment for chemical dependency; Or 3. current credentials as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) issued by the National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC), 7 Elmwood Drive, New City, NY 10956. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
