Overview:
The Human Resources Assistant for Benefits performs multiple tasks, including assisting employees and retirees, maintaining HRIS, health insurance, pension and other benefit enrollments.
Creates, organizes and maintains records and databases and is responsible for information reporting.
The Human Resources Assistant for Benefits primarily supports functional area of Human Resources in benefits.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
GENERAL Provides front desk coverage, receives incoming phone calls and customers to division, responds accurately to questions or redirects as appropriate.
Maintains employee files, name badges and other general systems.
Continuously improves systems to ensure efficient work flow completing work by established due dates.
Works independently on special projects.
Is knowledgeable regarding HRIS and uses Excel, Word and other appropriate computer software programs in answering questions and generating information.
Provides clerical support to the Human Resources Directors.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
BENEFITS Orients and assist employees regarding eligible benefits at time of hire, status change and at the end of employment.
Completes enrollments and changes on appropriate information systems to include HRIS and provider systems, as necessary.
Assist employees with questions regarding coverage, claims and general information.
Processes, balances and pay invoices accurately and on a timely basis.
Assist in the coordination and participates in the benefits fair open enrollment.
Maintains the COBRA, leave of absence, 403(b), retiree and H.
S.

Qualifications:
High school diploma with two years of relevant benefits or related experience is required.
Personal computer and word processing ability required, Excel and Word preferred.
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
Must be highly organized, service and detail oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.
Must have ability to set priorities, multi-tasking and work independently with minimum supervision As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
Recommended Skills Attention To Detail Claim Processing Communication Confidentiality Coordinating Customer Service Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
