Automotive Service Writer / Advisor

The Garvey Automotive Group is hiring a full time employee with automotive, sales, and customer service experience to be our next Service Salesperson at Garvey Hyundai North in Plattsburgh, NY. We're looking for a candidate with experience in either parts or service (both would be a big plus) but this is an entry level position and we're willing to train the right person.

Job Description:
At Garvey Hyundai as a service salesperson you'll be responsible for writing up service customers, and selling vehicle maintenance and repair jobs to them after a through needs assessment. You'll be responsible for learning the factory maintenance and service schedules for all of our new vehicles, as well as common repair and maintenance operations associated with them. When a customer brings in a vehicle for service, you'll greet them at the drive, perform a walk around multipoint inspection of their vehicle, and bring it to service parking for them. You'll cross check each vehicle that comes in for open service campaigns and have them performed as required.

A well qualified candidate will:
Have experience in the automotive industry and be familiar with the mechanical operation of motor vehicles
Be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle
Be customer service oriented
Be physically fit and capable of lifting small to medium size loads
Have a valid and clean driver's license
Be well spoken
Be proficient operating a Windows based PC and have experience with Microsoft Office
Be willing to work Saturday

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
